|The photographs below were taken by Brian Shuttlewood when he compered Billy's concert at the Blue Boar Festival site at Hucknall, near Nottingham, on 17 July, 1982.
Brian was a DJ and compere for 25 years, and was known as the Big Bopper. He spent 15 years on BBC radio in the East Midlands.
He was in the Decca recording studio when Billy cut Maybe Tomorrow, and was period adviser on the film That'll Be The Day.
These are terrific, atmospheric shots, Brian, and I'm very grateful to you for allowing me to make them publicly available.
Brian recalls Billy in this Real Audio file.

Also present at this event was Andy Stuart. Andy recalls: "He performed a great open air show, starting with A Wondrous Place. He forgot the first few lines of I Will and had to restart.
"No one knew if he was going to appear that night, and as you can imagine, when he did, the crowd went crazy.
"Marty Wilde was on the same bill and he wanted to stay around and perform with Billy, but he had to leave as he was performing elsewhere that same night. Seeing Billy perform was fantastic in itself."
